BLACK LODGE REPORT: BLACK SWASTIKA. ROTTERDAM DEC 7, 2002

On the evening of Saturday 7 December the Black Swastika performance took place at WORM, Rotterdam. About 50 people watched Reverend Steven Johnson Leyba, Monique Lorraine Everhart, Loggia Nera and WHY perform a multimedia show, which included ritual skin cutting and bloodletting, poetic rants, industrial music and unsettling visual backgrounds. The WORM walls were fully decorated by Rev. Steve with paintings from his Sex Goblins series. The Skinwalker book, which was recently completed by the Reverend, was displayed on a table, giving the audience a chance to see and examine Rev. Steve’s art. Many browsed through the book, and raised their eyebrows in astonishment. Most audience members were deeply impressed by the spectacle. After the performance a short Q & A gave audience members the opportunity to react on the show. Some challenging questions, some stupid questions, but Rev. Steve was able to deal with them all very well. Don’t provoke an angry Coyote!

The music of the performance was recorded on a multitrack hard disk recorder. We have plans to release a limited edition CD with special artwork by Rev. Leyba. We are going to work on the production next week, and hope to present the final results very soon. Updates on the production process will be included in this section. We are currently trying to set up more Black Swastika performances elsewhere in the Netherlands, and possibly in Belgium. Check the Black News for upcoming performance dates. If you are interested in booking this show, go to the Contacts section for addresses. We thank everyone that made this event possible. You know who you are.
