THE INNBETWEEN AT WORLDPORT'S END

A case study site was chosen on the Lloydpier, one of Rotterdam's decaying-developing port terrains, for a temporary spatial intervention, a semi-public camp (which would also solve the mobile artists's housing problem), a symbiotic implant within the area's transformation from residual port to urban fabric.

INVISIBLE VIENNA

The adaptation of the Palais Coburg revealed the archaeological secret lying dormant in its cellars: the largest surviving trace of the Renaissance fortifications. This dramaturgical concept interprets the walls' symbolic filtering of the outside reality from the inside illusion and the centuries long physical, socio-cultural, and psychological effect on the "City of Dreams".

WASSERTURM HAINBURG

For a planned visitors center in Hainburg, Austria about the Donau-Auen National Park a dramaturgical concept was developed to illuminate the hidden machinations and invisible processes of this special wetland biotope.

FREIBESETZT – A PAPER HOUSE

The exhibition and event series "freibesetzt" at the Kunsthalle Exnergasse in Vienna explored diverse concepts and strategies of appropriation of physical spaces (free or occupied?) in the Netherlands and Austria through the stories of their protagonists. The installation "A Paper House" by Dutch artists Jeanne van Heeswijk and Rolf Engelen was extended in the form of a "Viennese corridor".

MOZART 2006

Mozart hated Salzburg. The departure point of this concept was to consider the actual urban feeling in Salzburg, during the Mozart 2006 festival and Mozart's life. Compression. Isolation. Density. Now, then, and in the future. Walls. The periphery offers space for reflection, meditation, and contemplation.

THE AESTHETIC OF INCOMPLETION

The Nofrontiere studio. A truly never-ending building site. Over the years, a labyrinthine agglomeration of rooms behind the facade of Zinckgasse 20-22 were randomly integrated to host this multimedia company in Vienna. The architecture is a temporal succession, a process of juxtaposition, superimposition and contradiction of story. In collaboration with Axel Schmitzberger and Nofrontiere Design.

KIANG JAPANESE RESTAURANT

In a cellar of Vienna's 6th district, where the existing space shifted and slid like a cubist sculpture, the local restaurant mogul Kiang desired a plan for a fast-food Wagamama-style Japanese restaurant with a graphic concept that plays off the interior. In collaboration with Nofrontiere Design.

EUROPRIX MEDIATECTURE

The temporary installation in the Vienna Technical Museum created a hyper-interior enveloping the visitors in a single, seamless multimedia environment: the 'digital marketplace'. The project was an experiment in curating and mediating the potential of multiple disciplines and resources. Concept, tensile architectural design, and on-site construction of multimedia installation in collaboration with Axel Schmitzberger and Nofrontiere Design.
